First of all, let me say that is has been one week since Serge was hospitalized for his biopsy. Since then he received 3 intravenous treatments. He is now on anti-rejection drug therapy including the ones he takes regularly and some additional ones. He will be taking a combination of these medications for several weeks. He is home now, and will only be going back to Vancouver for check ups until he is fully recovered from the rejection issue.
I am happy to report that there is significant improvement with the latest tests. Serge went back to Vancouver yesterday and the transplant team doctors are very pleased with his progress so far. He is on his way to recovery. Still there is going to be some time before he is at that same spot where he was before the acute rejection, but the good news is that it is not chronic rejection.
